The Wake County Board of Alcoholic Control accepts Employment Applications on a continual basis.  Employment Applications are kept for 6 months from the date of submission.  If you have not been contacted during the six months following submission, you may request the employment application remain active by contacting us either via e-mail or phone.  When a position becomes open, Employment Applications submitted are used to hire for that position.

Position:              Assistant General Manager

Salary Range:     $89,529 to $136,979

 

Wake County Alcoholic Beverage Control, an equal opportunity employer located in the Capital City of Raleigh (North Carolina), is looking for a results oriented, positive minded, team player to serve as the Assistant General Manager.  This individual would serve alongside an existing Assistant General Manager both under the direction of the General Manager.  This position would lead by example and be responsible for assisting in monitoring the daily operations of 26 different retail/warehouse locations.  This individual will need to have considerable experience in:

  • existing and trending liquor products
  • current and long range fiscal planning and budgeting
  • product ordering through the State ABC System
  • stocking and inventory management
  • giving public presentations
  • understanding laws, policies, and procedures involving various personnel matters
  • understanding growing demographic and socioeconomic population trends in Wake County and the best way to serve customers by potential new and relocated store location

This individual must be able to establish and effectively maintain working relationships with other employees, the Board, general public, vendors, and/or various groups and agencies.  They must be able to present and express oneself professionally, clearly, and concisely.  Salary will depend upon qualifications.  Wake County ABC provides health, dental, and vision benefits as well as retirement through the NC Local Government Retirement System.  All those interested need to send a cover letter, resume, and copy of the Wake County ABC employment application (available via WakeABC.com) to the following address (whether mail or hand delivery) by 5:00 pm on February 14, 2020.
